How many inquiries does your business miss without a website assistant?
With the default numbers below (1,000 visitors a month, 30% of them outside opening hours, 2% who would send an inquiry), a business misses about 6 inquiries a month. If an assistant handles 70% of them and a quarter turn into a job worth 400 EUR, that is roughly 420 EUR a month. Put in your own numbers to see yours. Everything is calculated in your browser, nothing is sent anywhere.
Calculate your missed inquiries
How is this calculated?
Three multiplications, nothing hidden. Missed inquiries = visitors x share outside opening hours x share who would inquire. Handled = missed x share the assistant handles. Revenue = handled x share that become a job x average job value. There is no industry statistic behind any default. The defaults are round placeholders so the form shows a result on first load, and every one of them should be replaced with a figure from your own business.
What does this number not include?
It counts only inquiries lost because nobody answered in time. It does not count repeat customers, referrals, or time you save by not answering the same question twenty times. It also assumes the visitors you get today stay the same. Treat the result as a way to judge whether an assistant is worth scoping, not as a forecast.
What is a website assistant, and when does it pay off?
A website assistant is a chat on your own site that answers customer questions from your content, collects the details of a real inquiry and hands it to you. It pays off when your site gets steady traffic, a meaningful part of it arrives while you are closed, and a single job is worth enough that one rescued inquiry matters. It does not pay off for a site with a few dozen visits a month. For the difference between an assistant and an agent that takes actions, read custom AI agents and chatbots.
Next step if the number is worth acting on
If the monthly figure is clearly above what a project would cost, the next step is a scoping conversation. I build website assistants for small businesses, agencies and studios, and I run them in production. See AI automation services for how that works, or fractional AI engineering if you want ongoing capacity. Pricing is project-based and quoted by email.
Questions people ask
How many customer inquiries does a small business miss without a website assistant?
It depends on your traffic and opening hours, which is why the calculator takes your own numbers. The formula is simple: visitors per month, times the share who arrive outside opening hours, times the share who would send an inquiry. The default values are placeholders, not statistics.
Is the 2% inquiry rate a real industry figure?
No. It is a placeholder to show the maths. Replace it with your own: count the inquiries your website produced last month and divide by your visitors in the same month.
Does a website assistant answer every after-hours inquiry?
No, and the calculator does not assume it does. The field 'share the assistant handles' defaults to 70% as an assumption, not a measured result. Simple questions get answered, complicated or unusual ones should be handed to you with the visitor's contact details.
Where do I find my visitor numbers?
In your analytics tool, your hosting dashboard or Google Search Console. Use a recent full month. The share outside opening hours is visible in most analytics tools under visits by hour of day.
What does a website assistant cost?
Pricing is project-based and quoted by email after a short scoping conversation. Compare the quote with the monthly revenue figure from the calculator, using your own conservative numbers.
Want this number reduced? Send me your result and a link to your site. I reply with a few scoping questions, then a written scope and a fixed quote. No sales call, no packages.
